Morningside proudly offers graduate programs in Nursing and Education, as well as a doctoral program known as the Doctor of Nursing Practice. Our programs are designed especially for you. We offer flexible programs that allow you to continue working while still earning your degree. Most of our options are offered 100% online while some are offered in a hybrid format. At low costs, these programs fit well with both professional and personal lives. Many of our own undergraduate students choose to continue their education by enrolling in our graduate programs after graduation.

Admissions Information
- Applications and acceptances are reviewed and determined by the Graduate Nursing Faculty Council.
- All required admissions items must be submitted in order to be considered for acceptance.
- Those accepted will be notified in writing.
- Course enrollment is determined by availability and program acceptance, as well as meeting all requirements.
Out of State Applicants:
The Morningside College Nylen School of Nursing has investigated the general requirements for licensure in each state and territory. Morningside College Nylen School of Nursing baccalaureate and master’s program have full approval from the Iowa Board of Nursing. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing/master’s degree program in nursing/and post-graduate APRN certificate program at Morningside College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). Morningside College has been approved by the state of Iowa to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement. As of July 1, 2020, the BSN, MSN, DNP, and Post-Graduate Certificate program meet the following state requirements outlined here. Graduate Education Master of Arts in Teaching:
- Review the admissions requirements and check to see if you reside within an NC-SARA member state
- Complete the admissions application
- Submit a valid teaching license or certificate
- Submit official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate coursework
- You are required to have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. If you do not have a 2.75 cumulative GPA, the last 60 hours of coursework completed will be considered under the same requirements. If you are denied admission because of failure to meet the GPA requirements, you will be allowed to register for coursework. After completing nine graduate credit hours, you will be admitted if you maintain a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

- Minimum 2.75 GPA required
- Submit three letters of recommendation by email
- Complete an interview
